    Join us for the official launch of Museum Founding President & CEO Emeritus Gordon H. “Nick” Mueller’s new book, Preserving the Legacy. Dr. Mueller will share behind-the-scenes stories about the founding and first 25 years of the institution’s history and pay tribute to the monumental contributions of Museum Founder Stephen Ambrose, PhD. Mueller will sign books before and after the program.

    On Thursday June 24, the Military History Club focuses its gaze in images of war at it welcomes a Zoom presentation by Dr. Mirelle Luecke, Supervisory Curator at the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Library and Museum as she introduces us to its current showcase exhibit, "Casting Light: Photographs of the Vietnam War." She will share how she and the curatorial team developed the exhibit to recognize the 50th anniversary of the end of U.S. involvement in Vietnam. She will also discuss the importance of photojournalism in the war, including how images of the conflict influenced President Ford’s conviction that the fighting could not continue. Join us as we reflect on the war of many of our members’ youth.
