January 9 - Kinderhook, NY | The Noble Train Arrives

This educational program features skilled oratory and hands-on demonstrations honoring this signature event in our War for Independence.

January 10 - Hillsdale, NY | The Noble Train

Fort Ticonderoga will highlight the science of artillery and the gravity of the situation that required Henry Knox's wintertime feat with interactive experiences using reproduction artillery, ammunition, sleds, and oxen.

January 24 - Stockbridge, MA | The Noble Train Arrives

This program will recreate the scale of undertaking and the origin of this artillery from the North. Visitors will get the latest understanding of the big picture surrounding this historic moment, examining reproductions of items from Fort Ticonderoga’s Museum Collections.

January 31- February 1 - Sturbridge MA | “Knox’s Train of Artillery”

In partnership with Old Sturbridge Village, Fort Ticonderoga will look back on the Noble Train of Artillery and its memory in eastern Massachusetts. As part of our REAL TIME REVOLUTION® approach to 250th Anniversaries, our team will highlight the work to equip cannons from the Noble Train with the carriages they needed for service. Visitors can explore the work of artificers in preparing cannons for battle, as well as the work of draught animals and soldiers to move and lift these big guns.

 

February 21 - Lincoln, MA | “To Break The Siege: The Noble Train Arrives”

This REAL TIME REVOLUTION® at Minuteman National Historic Park will recreate the arrival and mounting of cannons from the Noble Train as the Continental Army prepared to employ these guns on Dorchester Heights. Discover the on-going service to continue the Siege of Boston through the winter. Examine the artillery laboratory work to prepare ammunition and the artificers’ crafts to outfit cannons with essential implements. With oxen and vehicles, feel the sense of urgency to finally drive the British from Boston with guns from Ticonderoga.

 

March 17 - Boston, MA | 250th Anniversary of Evacuation Day

Working with Revolution250, Fort Ticonderoga’s educators, oxen, & reproduction cannons will participate in the procession to Dorchester Heights National Historic Park. Fort Ticonderoga will bring to life the artillery crews that manned the batteries overlooking Boston harbor. Visitors will examine reproduction artillery ammunition and instruments to understand the science that underpinned this military triumph that began within the walls of Fort Ticonderoga.
