In this video clip Orson Welles (1915-1985) is interviewed by Dick Cavett (Born 1936), July 27, 1970. For the uninitiated, Orson Welles is one of the more charismatic characters of American Radio and Cinema. His career began in the 1930's and he is known for his radio adaption of HG Wells, "War of the Worlds", where he announced it as a real event. It caused quite the commotion and controversy. He also made and starred in several renowned movies of Hollywood's Golden Era and well beyond that. But, before that, as a kid he hiked in Germany and met Adolph Hitler before either of them became famous.
Later on, he met Winston Churchill multiple times. He discusses that as well and tells a funny story about Churchill post WWII.
