To all members and non-members, welcome to the War History Network, a platform dedicated to providing a space for enthusiasts of military history to discuss and share information. Our site utilizes a user-friendly layout consisting of three columns of modules, similar to popular social media sites such as LinkedIn, Facebook, and Twitter. We have provided step-by-step instructions below to help you post and engage with content on our site.
To post, having signed in, there are multiple options available. These options include but are not limited to:
- Forum: Posts and Discussions
- General Open Forum
- Book Forum and Book Reviews
- Videos
- Photo Albums and Photos
The most common and most-viewed module for posting and discussions is the Forum: Posts and Discussions, located in the far-left column of the home page, just beneath Leydekkers Photography. Simply click on the era of history that interests you and select the + Add Discussion button on the upper right-hand corner of the forum section. All posts may be edited or deleted by the member.
The General Open Forum is another popular module located in the center column of the home page. This generic forum is designed to post general topics of any period, genre or historical period that are not focused on any period or war. Click on the + Add Discussion button to add your post, and respond to others through the replies section. Additionally, the forum can easily be accessed from the header on the home page.
For those interested in discussing books, the Book Forum and Book Reviews module is available within the Forum: Posts & Discussions section. Simply select the + Add Discussion button and share your thoughts on a particular book or leave a review.
Video content may be uploaded to the site via the Videos module, which can be accessed from the top header on the Home page. Click on the + Add Video button for upload, preferably via YouTube. Insert the URL and paste it into the text field beneath "You can paste a link from YouTube, Hulu, Vimeo, or any embed code here:". After that, you may add accompanying text or narrative to your video.
The Photo Albums and All Photos modules are available from the header on the Home page. To post photos, click on the + Add Photo link in the upper-right-hand corner and follow the steps. Add text and select the appropriate category, whether related to an era, theater or particular battle, and click save.
