The M1911a1 is an iconic American pistol. It was designed by Johm M. Browning who designed many famous weapons, many still used today. The M1911 being one of them. If you've ever served in the military or saw one of their training films, you know they can be quite amusing without intending to be. This one is no different. Teaching soldiers how to properly deploy their weapon is important and I'm sure this film served it's purpose well. However, it does have some amusing parts and some of what it teachs would be refuted by modern firearms teachers. If you carried a M1911a1 during WWII you probably watched this film and learned these techniques.
I believe this is an excerpt from a longer training film and appears to be circa 1942-43.
