The Battle of Khe Sanh was one of the most intense and pivotal moments of the Vietnam War, lasting from 21 January to 9 July 1968. For months on end, two to three divisional-size elements of the North Vietnamese People's Army of Vietnam laid siege to the Khe Sanh Combat Base, defended by two regiments of the United States Marine Corps and supported by elements of the United States Army and the U.S. Air Force, as well as a small number of ARVN troops.
