Donald R. Hickey: Donald Hickey is America's foremost historian on the War of 1812 and was acclaimed to be "the dean of 1812 scholarship" by The New Yorker magazine. He has written eight books on the War of 1812, (eleven in all) and over a hundred journal articles, mostly on the same subject.
